The UK Government has pledged £850M to The Global Fund, a 15% reduction from the last replenishment/ This announcement comes despite the fact that the fight to end AIDS, TB, and malaria is facing unprecedented challenges and civil society, parliamentarians and the international community have been advocating for the UK government to maintain its previous £1 billion commitment at a minimum.
We join Results UK in expressing disappointment and we reaffirm our call to Canada to maintain its support to this crucial global health mechanism. Anything less further puts at risk our collective wellbeing and security.
