| Thousands of pairs of children's shoes were placed in Breestraat square in Leiden, Netherlands, on Sunday, as part of a symbolic protest drawing attention to the more than 17,000 Palestinian children killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023. |
We could use 20 or 30 of this type of protest in the US! But we are battling everything everywhere all at once and making only minimal dents.
ReplyDeleteWhat a touching memorial to the lost children of Gaza! The irony in it is that for most of the departed children a pair of shoes was probably something they did not possess, living as they did in temporary camps and moving constantly because of evacuation orders.
