Summary
This document presents challenges and opportunities facing children in the 21st century. It presents four scenarios of the future, each with different levels of technological advancement, resource utilization, and economic and geopolitical cooperation. The scenarios show that the future of children depends on the choices we make today. We can choose a future of divided prosperity, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, or a future of global synergy, where we work together to create a better world for all. The choice is ours.
Quotes
"The future of global cooperation is ... a major uncertainty ..."
"This shift to a more cooperative world may not happen for many reasons, including entrenched interests, consolidated power and wealth, and the centrality of sovereignty in international decision-making."
