Wow, the Charter of the "Board of Peace", supposedly set up to oversee the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza/Palestine, has no reference at all to Gaza! Though the UN Security Council approved the US-sponsored resolution for a limited and specific purpose of securing peace and reconstruction of Gaza, it has now been inflated to become Chairman DJT's vanity project that would rival or replace the UN Security Council itself, with its own Charter, peace-making role, and funding.
"The Chairman is the final authority regarding the meaning, interpretation, and application of this Charter". The Chairman alone determines membership and how votes are held. Permanent membership is granted to countries that contribute $1 billion. The Chairman has veto power over all decisions of the Board of Peace and its Executive Board. The Chairman can, of course, dissolve the body anytime!

Summary:
The Times of Israel has obtained and verified the full text of the charter for the Board of Peace, the international body headed by US President Donald Trump. The charter was attached to invitations sent to dozens of world leaders asking them to join the panel tasked with overseeing postwar management of Gaza.
Notably, the charter makes no mention of Gaza specifically, supporting earlier reporting that the US envisions the Board of Peace assisting in resolving conflicts worldwide. However, the UN Security Council mandate approved in November limits the board's scope to Gaza and only until the end of 2027.
The charter establishes Trump as inaugural Chairman with exclusive authority to create, modify, or dissolve subsidiary entities. Member countries must pay $1 billion for a permanent spot on the board; otherwise membership is limited to three-year terms renewable by the Chairman.
The Executive Board, selected by the Chairman, consists of leaders of global stature serving two-year terms. Decisions require majority approval of member states plus Chairman confirmation, who can veto any decision.
The charter declares that "durable peace requires pragmatic judgment, common-sense solutions, and the courage to depart from approaches and institutions that have too often failed." It emphasizes empowering people to take ownership over their future rather than fostering perpetual dependency. The official language is English, and amendments to key chapters require unanimous approval. The Board continues until dissolved by the Chairman or at the end of odd-numbered calendar years unless renewed by November 21.
Quotes:
"Declaring that durable peace requires pragmatic judgment, common-sense solutions, and the courage to depart from approaches and institutions that have too often failed"
"Recognizing that lasting peace takes root when people are empowered to take ownership and responsibility over their future"
"Lamenting that too many approaches to peace-building foster perpetual dependency, and institutionalize crisis rather than leading people beyond it"
"The three-year membership term shall not apply to Member States that contribute more than USD $1,000,000,000 in cash funds to the Board of Peace within the first year of the Charter's entry into force"
"Donald J. Trump shall serve as inaugural Chairman of the Board of Peace, and he shall separately serve as inaugural representative of the United States of America"
"The Chairman shall have exclusive authority to create, modify, or dissolve subsidiary entities as necessary or appropriate to fulfill the Board of Peace's mission"
"Decisions shall be made by a majority of the Member States present and voting, subject to the approval of the Chairman, who may also cast a vote in his capacity as Chairman in the event of a tie"
Why beat around the bush…DJT is President of US, head of NATO, Czar of Board of Peace, Overseer of the (rump) UN, and Commander in chief of the Whole World . His associates, but not equals, are Ji and Putin.Punto !
ReplyDeleteAmen!
DeletePresident Trump's enlarged Council of Peace as presented in Davos is a dangerous initiative. It is an attempt to create a substructure to undermine and overtake the United Nations. Since members must ante up $ 1 billion to join, this limits membership to the better off countries mainly in the Western hemisphere and leaves out poorer countries all over the world. Money, not equity is the principle that guides this notion.
ReplyDeleteImagine if President Trump opens up membership not only to countries but also to some of the multi billion Dollar companies who would then have a big say in matters that affect peoples' lives. Companies have no responsibility for people's well being, only to make more profit. HNH
